      • WHAT WE DO

Through affordable solar home systems, we provide easy access to clean energy
for people who live with no access to the national grid in Cameroon.

Our customers pay through small installments over 18-36 months.

        Expertise makes solar energy reliable

Every upOwa product has gone through rigorous testing. All installations get verified by a trained technician. A call center is also available to help upOwa clients with any trouble they might face.

        "PAYG" makes solar energy affordable

PAYG stands for Pay-As-You-Go, which means our clients can pay for a solar home system in regular, flexible installments all the while using their product. Monthly payments are equivalent to the monthly cost of kerosene lamps.

        Solar makes energy sustainable

Our solar home systems have a minimum warrantee of 18 months, and their light will shine many years after this period ends. In addition, the energy produced is clean: no more pollution or health risks at the clients’ house -a great improvement compared to lighting alternatives such as candles and kerosene lamps.

      • OUR VISION

Today, one in five people still has no access to electricity on our planet,

which means their cellphones are off and they live in the dark everyday after dusk.

By the end of 2028, more than 1 million people will be powered up by upOwa - let's Power People Now!

      • OUR IMPACT

As a social business, upOwa intends to invest the majority of its profits to further develop a positive impact in favor of the BoP

        Boost Local Economy

The arrival of electricity in a new neighborhood has multiple positive impacts on the local economy. A charged mobile phone enables communication. Shop lighting extends opening hours and results in increased wages. Having electricity at home creates new streams of revenue and indirectly jobs, not to mention the training and employment opportunities that upOwa offers to the local population!

        Empower People and Society

The arrival of electricity in a new house has multiple positive impacts on the life of the whole family. Children can study after dusk and improve their results at school. Toxic fumes are avoided, which improves personal health (no more respiratory problems and reduced strain on the eyes). Home security is improved as a lit house scares off burglars and animals. Access to information is improved with the use of radios.

        Protect The Environment

Customers’ direct natural environment will benefit from the use of clean energy. upOwa products substantially reduce CO2 emissions, as they replace previously used fossil fuels, burnt in lamps or diesel generators.
